This will be the title of my new poetic picture book with my
own illustrations. The small picture book explores why young children sometimes
refuse to eat. It explores unconscious fantasies about instinctive urges that
might feel dangerous to the child, yet exciting and compelling at the same
time.
Young children have deep feelings and strong emotions that are not yet
restricted that much by rational thought. The world is enchanting and
overwhelming at times as well as blissful and full of unexpected frustrations
and disappointments. Coming to terms with what happens inside oneself and what
happens outside oneself is one of the tasks of developing. Where they overlap
magic or disaster might occur and food can be a mayor negotiator!
Look out for ‘Moham won’t Eat’, a digestible exploration of these complex
dynamics.
